Hi everyone

Hi everyone,

My name is Caressa Rode and I am currently a sophomore here at the U majoring in neuroscience with a minor in health psychology. I am pre-medicine and I would love to either be a psychiatrist or a surgeon one day. I work in a group home that supports adults with severe mental health/developmental disabilities, and I have a position in a neuro-psych research lab here at the U. I’m pretty darn passionate about mental health- if you can’t tell.. and I may or may not have a neuron tattoo..

I was in theatre 4th-12th grade, but I have no film making experience, and I was a dancer for 14 years in a dance studio competitively and then also in high school dance team on varsity for 4 years (if that counts for anything performance wise (?)). However, I love love love watching films whenever my busy schedule allows for it. I constantly have a running list of my top 50 films, and then I also have a running list of my top 10 films in each “category” (ie, comedy, horror, drama, thriller, etc). My all time top 3 favorite films are- Mr. Nobody, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, and the Number 23.

Follow me on my new twitter @RodeReviews (since I deleted my old embarrassing one from middle school).

Hello friends!

Hi everyone! My name is Brianna (she/her/hers) and I’m a sophomore majoring in microbiology and minoring in Spanish. My twitter is @BriannaFridley (very creative, right?)

I don’t have a large amount of experience with feminism, but in high school, I was on an all girls robotics team and we started a community called FIRST Ladies to support and encourage females in FIRST with the goal of increasing female representation and involvement in STEM fields. With regards to film studies, I have absolutely no experience, but am looking forward to learning more about it!

Some of my favorite shows/movies at the moment are Santa Clarita Diet, Grey’s Anatomy, House, OITNB, and The Stanford Prison Experiment. I also really enjoy watching crime/prison related documentaries, like Evil Genius, I Am a Killer, The Staircase, and The Confession Tapes.

I’ve added a picture of my beautiful cat Koda for your viewing pleasure. I found him as a stray this summer in very bad condition and ended up adopting him a couple of weeks later! He’s a very special boy who loves belly rubs and graham crackers. Although he generally looks very angry in pictures, he’s the sweetest cat I’ve ever met.

Hello!

Hello GWSS 3307! My name is Maeve and I am a sophomore here at the University. I am majoring in Child Psychology and minoring in Spanish, GWSS, and Family Violence Prevention. My experience as a feminist has been a long and ever expanding one and I have countless people/experiences/things to thank for that. My experience with academic feminist study is more brief but one I am very grateful to have had (& will continue to have). My women’s studies class in high school had a very white feminist curriculum and lacked intersectionality. My first GWSS class was Skin, Sex, and Genes and it so far remains one of my favorite classes I’ve taken. It was a very theory, concept, theme heavy class and I’m so glad that it was one of my very first classes at the University because I gained so much conceptual, foundational knowledge that’s already been applicable in nearly all of my classes. I haven’t studied film much but I love it dearly. I go through movies and T.V. shows like doing so is equivalent to drinking water so the list of things I recently watched/enjoyed is…extensive. So just one, I just finished season 1 of the Sinner and having gone into it after hearing great things, I had high expectations and they were surpassed twice over. My twitter is @maevemedley just like on here!
